Intestinal bacteria produce neurotransmitter, could play role in inflammation
Another publication identifying a role for gut bacteria and neurotransmitter action. This bacteria was found to secrete large amounts of gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) an inhibitory neurotransmitter of the CNS and enteric nervous system.
